Chesley F. Manners is a former language teacher, fluent in French and Spanish and Language Department Head with the Charlestown Secondary School. He is currently Permanent Secretary with the Department of Human Resources.
Chesley is also a dramatist, poet and playwright and sees himself as a conservationist and environmentalist. Being very close to his roots, he has a passion for his history and culture and, thus, has engaged in many areas of research in these areas. He embraces all of this in the very comical character that he created, Miss Mattie, who often speaks and performs poetry on the Good Ole Days.
He is also the facilitator of and interpreter for a new CHOICE program El Ritmo Latino created for Spanish listeners residing here from the Dominican Republic.
